Brief Introduction
This program is intended for international students who come to China to learn Chinese or for those foreigners who are working in China for a long-term study. There are three levels of class: elementary class, intermediate class and advanced class.
Features:
1. Different layers of teaching
Students are divided into different classes of different levels. They are taught in accordance with their levels and are taught to raise their levels.
2. Wide variety of courses
The main courses are: oral Chinese, intensive reading, extensive reading, listening comprehension, writing, HSK guidance, journalistic listening and reading, etc.
3. Elective Chinese courses
The elective courses include Chinese culture, Chinese literature, Chinese commerce, Chinese history and so on.
4. Rich extracurricular practice activities
Extracurricular practice activities are arranged for students, such as visiting some commercial enterprises in Shanghai, touring some scenic spots & historical sites, having discussions with Chinese students etc.
Course Introduction
Program length: half a year– 3 years (starting a course for at least 10 people with equal level)
There are seven levels of courses: Elementary I, Elementary II, Elementary III; Intermediate I, Intermediate II; Advanced I and Advanced II.
Curricula:
1. Language skill courses: Intensive reading, listening comprehension, spoken Chinese, writing, extensive reading, etc.
2. Specialized courses: Selected Readings of Chinese Newspapers and Periodicals, Journalistic Listening, Chinese for Economics and Trade, Classical Chinese Poetry Appreciation, Phonetic Rectification, Picture Talk, Introduction to Chinese Characters.
3. Culture courses: Tourism Culture, Chinese Culture, Chinese History, Survey of China, Tour in China, Movie & TV Play Appreciation, etc.
Language Practice Activities: Tours of scenic spots and historical sites in Shanghai and in its neighboring areas will be arranged for international students.
Enrollment
Spring semester: from the end of February or early March to early July
Application period: October 8 to December 31 every year
Fall semester: from early September till early January the following year
Application period: May 8 to July 31 every year
* The students will be required to take a placement test after registration. They will be placed into classes based on their performance in the placement test.
Admission Requirements
The applicants are over 18 years old, in good health, hold a copy of valid passport and graduated from high school.

2. A high school diploma or certificate of its equivalent
3. A copy of passport
4. Four passport-sized photos
Fees
Application fee: RMB 400
Tuition fee: RMB 8500 per term
Registration fee: RMB 200 per term
Activity fee: The fee will be collected according to the actual need.
*All the fees are paid in RMB and the exchange rate will be computed according to the rate on the transaction day.
